PSG open to selling Neymar after absence in training

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to sell Neymar after the Brazilian did not report to pre-season training with the rest of the squad.

Neymar was supposed to arrive at the club's training grounds on Monday, but he failed to do so, increasing the speculation that he will be rejoining Barcelona in a massive transfer this summer.

The club released a statement saying: "PSG affirms that the player Neymar Jr was not present at the time and place required, without prior authorisation from the club. PSG regrets this situation and will take appropriate action."

PSG's sporting director Leonardo, revealed that the club will not hesitate to sell the Brazilian if a good offer is received for him. Neymar is currently the most expensive player in football, with his transfer from Barcelona to PSG in 2017 being valued at £220 million.

Leonardo added that "PSG want to count on players who want to be here and build something big. We do not need players who are doing a favour to the club by being here."

He also added that "Only one thing is certain today: he is under contract with us for three years. And since we have not received an offer, there is nothing to discuss."

In his two season in Paris, Neymar has racked up 50 appearances in all competitions, scoring 45 goals and providing 25 assists, in two years which have been plagued by injuries.
