Juventus have decided to sell Federico Chiesa this summer as he has been deemed surplus to requirements by new manager Thiago Motta.

The Italian winger is coming off the back of a disappointing Euro 2024, both personally, and in terms of his nation's performance, with the Azzurri being knocked out in the Round of 16. Chiesa was not directly involved in any of Italy's goals.

And it doesn't seem like things are going to get any better for Chiesa at club level either.

Chiesa's future at Juventus has been up in the fair ever since Motta arrived at the club a few weeks ago, with him also being one of the few players who could bring in some funds for the Bianconeri.

According to Fabrizio Romano, his time at the club now looks like it is all over, with Juve having a clear plan to sell the Italian winger this summer as his contract is set to expire in June 2025.

The report added that Motta does not see Chiesa as a key part of his project, and thus is looking for possible solutions.

Juve want to bring in a new winger after signing Teun Koopmeiners.

So far this summer, Juventus have already signed Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa, with moves for Koopmeiners, Khephren Thuram and Michele Di Gregorio all set to be finalised soon as well.

Therefore, the Bianconeri will want to raise some money to fund their arrivals, and Chiesa is seemingly one of the first names set to go out of the door.

According to transfermarkt, the 26-year-old has a €35 million market value, yet he could go for less given his expiring contract.

Last season, Chiesa was one of the few bright sparks in the attack for Juve, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists. He started the season off strongly, but injuries at around the start of 2024 led to inconsistency, before he picked up form again towards the latter stages of the season.

So far, not many clubs have been mentioned as being interested in Chiesa, aside from AS Roma, who have presented a long-term proposal to him.

Chiesa is open to joining Roma if they can agree terms with Juventus. Napoli, who were previously interested, are now out of the negotiations.
