Extraordinary Choupo-Moting miss keeps PSG waiting for the title

The Cameroonian produced one of the greatest misses in the history of football in the 28th minute, as he denied his side a clear goal, right on the goal-line.

As the young Christopher Nkunku got in behind the Strasbourg defence, he chipped the ball over the keeper, and with Choupo-Moting on the line, the ball looked set to go in, either as an Nkunku goal, or else as a tap-in for the Cameroonian.

However, as Choupo-Moting chased the ball, he accidentally touched the ball, keeping the ball right on the line, allowing one of the Strasbourg defenders to clear it, in what was an amazing series of events.

After the miss, Strasbourg went on to score two goals, making the score 2-1 to them. There was a saving grace for PSG late on, as Thilo Kehrer scored a wonderful headed goal in the last ten minutes of the match.

The Cameroonian then went on to apologise to everyone for the miss, saying that "It was really fast, I'm sorry."

PSG travel to second-placed Lille next Sunday, as they have another chance to win Ligue 1, however, not at their home ground.

Paris Saint-Germain could have won the Ligue 1 title on Sunday, yet due to Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting's miss, they have to wait for the next match to do so.
