Werder Bremen's Milot Rashica has been set for a move out of the club, but whilst Aston Villa have been chasing the Kosovo international's signature, the German side have completely ruled out selling him in January.
The winger was set to join Villa during the summer after he had stated that he wanted to leave Bremen, yet the German side eventually managed to keep him at the club.
Rashica was identified as one of Villa's top targets, but once they knew that he would not move, they opted for Bertrand Traore as an alternative, yet they are still interested in Rashica.
New reports in the German press emerged last week stating that Villa are set to rekindle their interest in the January transfer window after monitoring the Kosovo international very closely.
However. Werder Bremen's sporting director Frank Baumann has spoken with BILD, saying that they will not allow any of their players to leave the club in January.
"I would rule out (any of our players) leaving in winter," Baumann said.
This comes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, with squad depth being more important than ever.
Rashica, who is now 24, has only managed five appearances in all competitions this season, with him suffering a knee injury before the campaign started.
Last season, he managed eight goals and seven assists in 30 Bundesliga appearances, with Werder Bremen just about avoiding relegation.
Apart from Villa, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in Rashica, with moves for him falling through during the summer transfer window.
