Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly 'very interested' in signing LOSC Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan this summer.
According to a report from L'Equipe, Spurs are showing great interest in Maignan, with him being their priority signing in the summer.
The goalkeeping area is the main area that Spurs want to bolster this summer, with them also being linked with Nick Pope and Dean Henderson, yet they have decided that Maignan is the man that they are the most keen on.
The 25-year-old Frenchman earned his first France cap in 2020, with this showing how good he is, as France have plenty of quality goalkeepers in their ranks.
L'Equipe are claiming that Hugo Lloris is set to leave Spurs at the end of the season, with Maignan being seen as his replacement at the club.
Lloris is in the final year of his contract at Spurs, and given that he is now 34-years-old, it might be time for Spurs to let their captain go after nine seasons at the club.
Maignan has played in every game for Lille in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Europa League this season, with the French side being second in the league as they continue to mount a title challenge.
Spurs remain very interested in Maignan, and since they have been looking at goalkeeper options for several years, he might be the one that they have been looking for all these years.
Tottenham's options in goal are currently limited to 34-year-old Lloris, 33-year-old Joe Hart and and young Alfie Whiteman, whilst Paulo Gazzaniga is out on loan at Elche CF, and so signing Maignan will be a good move for the North London club.
