Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in brining Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele to Italy, as he looks to add to his current options at AS Roma.

According to a report from Calciomercato, Mourinho wants to add more athleticism and dynamism in his midfield, and Ndombele has emerged as one of the targets that ticks those boxes.

The Giallorossi started their season brilliantly, yet they have now lost two out of their last three games, one being a defeat against Lazio in the Derby della Capitale last weekend.

As a result, Mourinho is looking to strengthen his side even more, with Ndombele being one of the main names on his radar.

Ndombele's future at Spurs is currently in doubt, with there being claims over the summer that he wanted to leave the club.

However, he ended up staying in North London, and while he has struggled with fitness, he has been one of the better performers in a Spurs side that has been relatively underwhelming so far this season.

Ndombele has shown glimpses of his quality throughout his time with Spurs, yet he is yet to realise his full potential there.

Mourinho's interest in Ndombele comes as quite a surprise, since the pair appeared to have a difficult relationship while the Portuguese manager was still in charge of Spurs.

While it could be difficult to see the French midfielder leaving Spurs to rejoin his former manager, it all depends on how badly he wants to leave North London, and if Roma submit a bid that will actually entice Daniel Levy to sell the 24-year-old.

Ndombele signed for Spurs from Olympique Lyon in 2019, and since then he has made 79 appearances for the English club, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists in the process.
