Aston Villa seal deal for £19m Lyon winger

Aston Villa are set to announce the signing of £19 million winger Bertrand Traore, with all parties coming to an agreement.

L'Equipe has reported that both clubs have agreed on a transfer fee, with Traore also accepting the terms that Villa have proposed.

The report also states that Villa will be paying £19 million for the Burkina Faso international, with him signing a four-year deal to come to Villa Park.

Lyon are fighting to keep hold of plenty of players, yet they are also set to freshen up the squad, and letting go of Traore for the hefty fee that Villa have agreed on could be the answer.

The 25-year-old has played in the Premier League before, with him joining Lyon from Chelsea back in 2017 for £9 million.

Traore only played 16 times for Chelsea, with him having loan moves to Vitesse and Ajax.

Since he joined Lyon, Traore has played 126 times for the French side, scoring 33 goals and providing 17 assists.

With him being on the verge of leaving the club, he has not made a single appearance for the French giants this season.

Traore was seen as an alternative to Milot Rashica from Werder Bremen, with Villa having their £20 million bid rejected for the Kosovo international.
