AC Milan are keen to replace their current manager, Marco Giampaolo, after a very bad start to the season, and after talks to get the former Inter manager, Luciano Spalletti, fell through, the Rossoneri are seeking another former Inter boss, Stefano Pioli.
With there being complications over Spalletti's contract with Inter, Milan have been put off by the time that may be taken to get Spalletti, and with their urgency to replace Giampaolo, they have turned their heads towards Pioli.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan have sped up their talks to get Pioli, as the Italian looks set to get his first job ever since he resigned from being the manager of Fiorentina last April, after Fiorentina were dragged into a shocking relegation battle.
Pioli is currently also a target for both Genoa and Sampdoria, with the two teams struggling at the lower end of the Serie A table.
Piolo had lasted less than a season at Inter, even though he managed to win 12 of his first 16 Serie A games for Inter, as he then went on to get just two points from a possible 21 in his final seven games in charge, as he was sacked early on in May 2017.
