Two Premier League clubs rivals Spurs for Watford's Sarr

Watford star Ismaila Sarr has been targeted by plenty of Premier League clubs over recent weeks, and whilst Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as the top club wanting his signature, they also face competition elsewhere.

Liverpool are one of the clubs, along with Manchester United, who are chasing the signature of the Senegalese international.

Liverpool already have a very strong side, yet they have barely strengthened from last season, only buying Konstantinos Tsimikas earlier in the window.

Manchester United on the other hand, are on the lookout for a right-winger, a full-back and a centre-back, as they look to increase their squad depth to secure themselves Champions League football once again.

Both Jurgen Klopp and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer feel the need to offload some of their deadwood, and they want to replace those players with some real quality, and Sarr might just be the option.

However, he will not be as cheap as many would have hoped for, with Watford rejecting Tottenham's £40 million bid a week ago.

According to reports, the 22-year-old wants to join Liverpool, yet due to the pandemic, Liverpool are unwilling to pay the large sum wanted by Watford for the winger.

United and Spurs have shown throughout the window that they want to strengthen, and that they do have the funds to do so, and they are set to make offers of around £45 million for Sarr.

Watford bought Sarr from Rennes last summer for £30 million, and went on to score six goals during his first season in England, scoring a goal and providing an assist against Manchester United, whilst also scoring twice and providing an assist against Liverpool.

Liverpool are set to sell youngster Rhian Brewster in order to fund a move for Sarr, with the 20-year-old having a value of around £20 million, with Aston Villa and Crystal Palace chasing his signature.
