Tottenham sign Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon

Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Tanguy Ndombele from Olympique Lyonnais for a club record fee of £53.8 million, which could rise to £62.8 million through add-ons.

The French international has signed a six-year contract, keeping him at the club until 2025.

Through signing Ndombele, Tottenham have broken their transfer record, which was currently held by the signing of Davinson Sanchez from Ajax in August 2017.

Ndombele had joined Lyon from Amiens in 2017, and he helped them finish third in Ligue 1 last season, whilst also being crucial in Lyon's progression through the group stages in the UEFA Champions League.

In total, Ndombele made 98 appearances in all competitions for Lyon across two seasons, scoring four goals and registering 16 assists.
