Tottenham lining up Christian Eriksen replacement

Tottenham are ready to battle it out with Manchester United for the signing of Sporting Lisbon captain, Bruno Fernandes, as a replacement for the departing Christian Eriksen.

The Portuguese international was crucial for Sporting in Liga NOS, scoring a whopping 20 goals and providing 13 assists in just 33 league games. A truly impressive set of numbers considering that he is primarily an attacking midfielder.

There are reports that his agent, Miguel Pinho, is in London to hold talks with Tottenham over a potential £70 million move for the midfielder.

The midfielder would be a direct replacement for Christian Eriksen, with the Dane seemingly on his way out of Spurs after a six-year stay at the club.

Fernandes has an impressive average of 3.6 shots per league game and 3.2 key passes per league game as well, which is very impressive considering that Eriksen managed 2.4 shots per Premier League match and 2.1 key passes per Premier League match this season.

However, Manchester United are also seeking to get Fernandes, as they look to rebuild the squad entirely after a disastrous season.
