According to Italian reports, Liverpool are currently targeting AS Roma's Nicolo Zaniolo, but the Italian club want Dejan Lovren included in a possible swap deal.
Zaniolo has not played since January after damaging his anterior cruciate ligament against Juventus.
Manchester United and Tottenham are also interested in signing the 20-year-old Italian, but Liverpool are the ones leading the chase.
Whilst he is currently valued at £53 million, Roma are still interested in Lovren and the Croatian might be included in the deal.
Roma were interested in signing Lovren last summer and almost secured his signature after the Champions League final, with the Croatian finding it harder to get into the team with Van Dijk, Gomez and Matip all being ahead of him in the pecking order.
Back in September, Lovren admitted that Klopp convinced him to stay, as he "wanted to leave" but was told that Liverpool "need" him.
