RB Leipzig have offer accepted for AC Milan and Chelsea target

RB Leipzig have reportedly had an offer accepted by Strasbourg for their young defender Mohamed Simakan, with him being also linked with AC Milan and Chelsea.
Strasbourg have accepted an offer of around €15 million made by RB Leipzig, with the German club showing plenty of interest in him over the last few months, according to Sky sources.
Milan were the club that were the most keen on him in January, even having an offer accepted for him, but injury problems led to them to focus on other targets as well.
AC Milan slowly moved out of the race for Simakan after they agreed to sign Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori on loan instead, and Chelsea were simply monitoring him for a possible move in the summer, but they seem to have missed out on him completely now.
The contract signing is set to be next week, with a medical examination set to be completed soon as well.
The 20-year-old has played 44 times for Strasbourg in total across all competition, being seen as one of the best defender in Europe for his age.
Simakan is currently out due to injury, which was the initial reason why Milan were put off by his transfer, but he is set to return over the coming month and a half.
Leipzig seems like the perfect club for Simakan to develop into a top defender, with Julian Nagelsmann being a fantastic manager that has developed the likes of Ibrahima Konate and Dayot Upamecano into outstanding defenders.
This signing looks like one to prepare Leipzig for the pending transfer of Upamecano, who has been linked with a move away for the past year or so, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool all being very interested in him.
