Ranked: The 5 Best Premier League Goals of the Season

This season's Premier League has been filled with moments of magic that have enthralled supporters from all over the world, with long range strikes, thunderous volleys, and even mazy runs.

To mark the end of the season, I have compiled a list of the top five goals of this season. This is entirely my opinion, as certain picks may be up for debate.

5. Fabian Schar (Newcastle 2-0 Burnley, 27th February)

Newcastle were in a tight encounter against Burnley, as both sides were fighting to assure themselves of Premier League football for next season. Newcastle managed to come out on top, after their summer signing, Fabian Schar, found some space from outside the box, and blasted the ball right into the top corner from around 25 yards out, leaving Tom Heaton to simply grab the ball from inside the net.

4. Eden Hazard (Chelsea 2-0 West Ham United, 8th April)

Chelsea could not find a way to break down West Ham early on, but in one instance, their illustrious Belgian started to run at the Hammers' defenders, after having his back to goal from around 35 yards out. He then took up the pace a notch, shifting across Mark Noble and Declan Rice, before some wonderful close control allowed him to skip past challenges from Angelo Ogbonna and Fabian Balbuena, before finishing neatly past Lukasz Fabianski, capping off a stunning solo run, that less than a handful of players can ever replicate.

3. Aaron Ramsey (Fulham 1-5 Arsenal, 7th October)

Aaron Ramsey had just come off of the bench, when suddenly he was involved in play, starting off a series of wonderful one and two touch passes, that took them from back to front, with the Welshman popping inside of the box to finish off the move in style, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang slid the ball into his path, as Ramsey back-heeled the ball into the net. What is remarkable is that Ramsey had spent just 38 seconds on the pitch prior to his goal.

2. Andros Townsend (Manchester City 2-3 Crystal Palace, 22nd December)

When Crystal Palace travelled to the Etihad Stadium late in December, everything seemed to go their way, and it was tipped off with one of the best strikes the Premier League has ever seen. After a cross was headed away by Bernardo Silva, Andros Townsend had no second thoughts about what he was going to do, striking the ball first-time, releasing a deadly shot filled with tremendous power, which sailed into the top corner. Ederson was still jumping when the ball was already in the net. This goal capped off a historic win for the Eagles, sparking a series of results that led to them surviving comfortably in the Premier League.

1. Vincent Kompany (Manchester City 1-0 Leicester City, 6th May)

With the title still hanging in the balance, Leicester were doing a massive favour for Liverpool, as Brendan Rodgers' side were holding Manchester City goalless, with the reigning champions looking like they were running out of ideas. That was until the most unlikeliest of players, decided to have a pop at goal from a long way outside of the box. It was none other than the captain, Vincent Kompany. Many players were apparently telling him to not take on the shot, and just pass the ball instead. However, the Belgian had only one thing on his mind, and he unleashed a venomous strike, leaving Kasper Schmeichel to hopelessly scramble for the ball, yet he stood no chance, with the ball going right into the top corner.

The goal effectively won Manchester City the title, as they eventually went on to win the league with just one point, and what a way to win the league, with their ever-reliable captain granting them a precious set of three points.
