Ralph Hasenhuttl was not giving anything away when asked about the potential swap deal between Tottenham and Southampton for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Kyle Walker-Peters on Wednesday.
Hojbjerg was stripped from his captaincy after opting to not sign a deal at Southampton, reportedly being very keen on a move to Spurs.
Walker-Peters, who is currently on loan with the Saints from Tottenham, could be used as part of a swap deal.
Walker-Peters has featured prominently for Southampton since the restart, featuring in all six Premier League games, after playing just four league games throughout the rest of the season before the pandemic.
However, with Southampton still having three games left in the season, Hasenhuttl was not focusing on transfer talk, saying that he doesn't "concentrate so much on the transfer market".
He also added that his main focus is "on getting a performance from my team".
The only signals he gave were that there are currently scouts that are giving him "some information in the players that are of interest" to the club, claiming that they are "busy in the background".
Southampton have improved a lot throughout the season, and could be set to make the next step to compete for European football next season, but will definitely need some reinforcements in all areas of the pitch if they wish to do so.
