Portugal win their second title in three years after winning the first ever UEFA Nations League

Portugal have managed to win the inaugural UEFA Nations League finals, after beating the Netherlands 1-0 in the final.

The game was at a deadlock for most of the first-half, yet Portugal were clearly the better of the two sides, yet they failed to trouble Jasper Cillessen in the Netherlands goal.

In the second half, the two teams upped their game immensely, with the Netherlands starting to take control of the midfield, yet Portugal had the final say, after Goncalo Guedes fired home a powerful strike that left Cillessen reaching for the ball in the net in the 60th minute.

For the rest of the game, the game established a pattern, with the Netherlands dominating possession and had the most of the chances, yet Portugal were still threatening on the counter, especially with the introduction of Rafa Silva.

At the end of the day, Portugal had the last laugh as the Netherlands failed to break down a sturdy Portuguese defence, crowning Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal as the very first winners of the UEFA Nations League.
