Real Madrid's long pursuit for Chelsea' star player, Eden Hazard, has finally come to an end, after the club announced that they have agreed on a fee with Chelsea for the services of the Belgian on Friday.
Eden Hazard has joined Real Madrid for a whopping £89 million, making him their record signing, surpassing Gareth Bale's £86 million deal, as well as Cristiano Ronaldo's £80 million transfer.
Real Madrid was quick to announce the signing after Chelsea had announced that an agreement was reached, with the Spanish club saying that "Real Madrid and Chelsea have agreed the transfer for the player Eden Hazard,", and then adding that "The player will be tied to the club for the next five seasons, until June 30 2024."
The Belgian then went ahead and posted a very long statement to the Chelsea fans, as he thanked them for all their support over the years and for the club for their "tremendous effort as we lived through every moment."
The Belgian will be presented at the Santiago Bernabeu on 13th June, after completing his medical with the club.
