Nottingham Forest pushing for Union Berlin's Taiwo Awoniyi

Nottingham Forest are keen to add to their squad this summer following their return to the Premier League, and they are already progressing in talks for three potential signings.
Forest have been eyeing Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson for quite a while now, and reports indicate that he's close to joining on a one-year loan with an option to buy, as he wants to be part of the England squad in the FIFA World Cup in Qatar this year.
Additionally, Mainz 05 captain Moussa Niakhate wants to join Forest this summer.
The defender has a verbal agreement in place with the English club, and he could sign a contract until 2026, as negotiations with Mainz are ongoing, with the German club demanding around €15 million.
However, Forest are also targeting Union Berlin striker Taiwo Awoniyi, who is pushing for a move away from Germany this summer, wanting to join a Premier League club.
Forest are highly interested in the former Liverpool forward, and talks have already taken place, with him having a release clause of around €20 million in his contract with Union.
Apart from Forest, several other unnamed clubs are interested in the Nigerian.
The 24-year-old is coming off the back of a remarkable season with Union, scoring 20 goals and providing five assists in 43 games in all competitions, impressing in his first season after his €6.5 million move from Liverpool.
He previously spent 2020/21 season on loan with German club, during which he scored five goals and provided four assists in 22 games in all competitions, after struggling with injuries throughout the campaign.
As it stands, the recently-promoted side are pushing to get several deals done at once, especially for Djed Spence, who starred at the City Ground on loan from Middlesbrough this season, yet he's attracting interest from some of the Premier League's top sides, including Tottenham Hotspur.
