According to reports, Newcastle United have reignited their interest in Fenerbahce target and Sampdoria defender Omar Colley.
Reports from Primo Canale and Tutto Mercato Web have stated that the Magpies are keen on making a late January move for the Gambian, in order to try and solidify their leaky defence.
Newcastle's defence has crumbled in the past few weeks, something that is uncharacteristic of a Steve Bruce team, who prides himself on having a solid defence to work with.
Primo Canale have stated that the club have come forward once again for the 28-year-old defender, after he was linked with the Magpies in September, yet there is also interest from Fenerbahce, who are also keen on signing former Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
The outlet does not clarify what the nature of Newcastle's approach is, yet there is plenty of talks throughout the transfer window that Newcastle are only keen on sealing loan deals.
Sampdoria are keen on selling if the option is right, and so a loan with an option-to-buy is possible.
Colley has been at Sampdoria since 2018, joining from Belgian side Genk, and has only recently signed a new contract with the Italian club, but the interest in him has not stopped.
The 28-year-old has been a consistent starter for Sampdoria this season, featuring in 14 of the club's 21 games in all competitions so far this season.
