According to reports, AC Milan are set to complete the transfer of Marseille star winger Florian Thauvin on a pre-contract.
In doing so, they would be beating the likes of Leicester City and Sevilla to the transfer of the Frenchman.
The latest report from TF in Spain has stated that Thauvin is set to leave Marseille after he refused a contract renewal at the club, wanting to leave on a free in the summer.
The report adds that Thauvin has decided that he wants to join Milan, with the Rossoneri pushing to make strides in the transfer market to ensure that they continue to challenge for titles in the near future and return to the UEFA Champions League.
This signing would be in preparation for the departure of Brahim Diaz, who could be set to return to Real Madrid.
Milan and Thauvin have reportedly had a verbal agreement, which will allow them to make the signing official once the coming transfer window opens.
Reports claim that by signing for Milan, Thauvin will be improving on his current salary, as well as signing a three-year-deal until the summer of 2024.
Thauvin has featured in every game for Marseille so far this season, racking up seven goals and seven assists in 21 Ligue 1 appearances, in a season that has been filled with controversy at the Ligue 1 club.
