AC Milan have reportedly been offered the chance to sign struggling AS Roma winger Cengiz Under, and they are currently assessing the opportunity in detail.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan's management want to strengthen their squad this summer in order to mount a title challenge next season, with Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara being at work in order to add to Stefano Pioli's options up front.
One of Milan's newest transfer targets appears to be Under, who played for Leicester City last season while on loan from Roma, yet he did not have a great time in England, playing just 19 times for the English club, scoring just two goals and providing three assists.
Yesterday, Fali Ramadani, Under's agent, met with the Milan management, discussing the Turkish winger's availability.
The 23-year-old is reportedly not part of new Roma manager Jose Mourinho's plans, and while his transfer value is at €18 million (transfermarkt.com), he could be allowed to leave for just €15 million.
Milan have been on the lookout for a winger to replace Samu Castillejo, who massively underperformed this season, and signing Under for such a cheap fee might be the be perfect opportunity to do so.
Under signed for Roma from Istanbul Basaksehir in 2017 for €14.25 million, and while he has had some bright moments, his time in Italy has been blighted by injuries and inconsistency, and so a fresh start with Milan might be the best move for him.
