Manchester United edging closer to Serie A forward signing

Manchester United are on the chase to make signings in the final week of the transfer window, and reports have emerged that talks are progressing over a deal for Atalanta winger Amad Traore.

United are currently having a very quiet summer when it comes to transfers, with their only signing so far being Donny van de Beek from Ajax, as they constantly wait for Borussia Dortmund to accept one of their bids for long-term target Jadon Sancho.

They are preparing for possible alternatives to Sancho, with Atalanta's Amad Traore being one that is on their list for possible signings.

Traore is seen as a big prospect for the future, with him still only 18 and being rated very highly by the Italian media.

The report from Manchester Evening News claims that United are edging closer to signing Traore, with talks ongoing between Atalanta and United.

It also states that United's top priority is a right-winger, with Ousmane Dembele from FC Barcelona also being a prime target, with rumours emerging of a possible loan deal for the Frenchman.

Whilst Traore is not the big name signing that plenty of United fans would have been hoping for, he could be a very good alternative to strengthen the team's attack.

Atalanta's academy has been touted as one of the best, if not the best, in Italy, and Traore is one of its highest prospects.
