Lyon forward Memphis Depay is set to join Barcelona in the coming transfer window on a free transfer, according to reports.
A report from L'Equipe has claimed that the Dutchman is set to join the Spanish giants in the summer after several transfer windows of speculation.
The forward was close to joining Barcelona last summer, yet a deal failed to materialise as the Spanish club could not meet the transfer demands set by Lyon.
Depay has had another fruitful season, racking up 21 goals and ten assists from 38 appearances, yet Lyon could still miss out on UEFA Champions League football, with them in fourth place.
However, if they do make it into the top three and qualify for Europe's top competition, the 27-year-old has stated that he does not have the desire to sign a new contract beyond the end of the season, and he is now on the cusp of joining Barcelona.
According to the report, Barcelona's only remaining issues in the deal are some minor details that still need to be completed before finalising the free transfer.
Barca are in need of a striker, after they failed to replace Luis Suarez, who joined Atletico Madrid last summer.
They have also been linked with a move for Sergio Aguero, who is also a free agent at the end of the season with his contract at Manchester City ending in June.
Depay's versatility in the attacking positions could prove vital for Barcelona next season, and with Ronald Koeman being a big admirer of the Dutch international after his time as coach of the Netherlands national team.
