Liverpool and Arsenal set their sights on Ajax star with a tempting price-tag

Ajax's shocking decision to stamp a €35 million price-tag on their star playmaker, Hakim Ziyech, has led to plenty of clubs seeking his signature, but the front-runners to sign the Moroccan seem to be Liverpool and Arsenal.
Ziyech is still under contract till 2021, but after his stellar season with Ajax, the club's director of football, Marc Overmars, confirmed that he will be sold in the summer, saying "He leaves when a top club comes."
The former Arsenal winger added that "Many big clubs are buzzing around him. We promised Hakim that we would agree to a good transfer.”
Liverpool and Arsenal have been named as the two clubs that are most interested in the playmaker, with Arsenal badly needing a new right-winger or else someone to take Aaron Ramsey's place, whilst Liverpool are looking to shore up their attacking options after Daniel Sturridge's contract expired and with the news that Xherdan Shaqiri being set to leave.

Ziyech himself has not said too much about a transfer to another club from Ajax, but in 2017 he spoke of his desire to play in the Premier League or in La Liga, saying "Well, I have two clubs. They are Arsenal and Barcelona . That is my ultimate dream."
Ziyech managed to get 21 goals and 24 assists in all competitions for Ajax last season, and he is set to be one of the many players that will leave the club during this summer.
