According to reports, Lazio are currently interested in signing Manchester City left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko, who is valued at £20 million by City.

The 24-year-old was seen as an upcoming prospect at City, but has now become nothing than a squad player at the club, with Pep Guardiola preferring to start either Benjamin Mendy, Joao Cancelo or else Nathan Ake at left-back.

As a result, Zinchenko has played just eight games in all competitions this season, mostly in the UEFA Champions League.

According to a report from La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazio have been monitoring the Ukrainian left-back very closely, and are keen on a move for him in January.

The only problem that Lazio face is that Zinchenko's contract at Manchester City is set to expire in 2024, and as a result, City expect the full price tag of £20 million for him.

Lazio do not have as many funds as they would have hoped for due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and £20 million might be too big of a fee to pay for.

However, Lazio are still keen to try and negotiate a deal for Zinchenko, and are in talks with City over a possible transfer for less than £20 million.

With uncertainty in the left-back area, and after an impressive performance against Manchester United in the EFL Cup on Wednesday, Zinchenko might still be in Guardiola's plans for the future, but he might be tempted if Lazio opt to offer the right amount of money.

City are reportedly interested in signing Renan Lodi to solve their left-back problem during the January transfer window, but Atletico Madrid will most likely not want to sell the Brazilian in the middle of the season.
