Jose Mourinho refuses to get carried away as Spurs win against West Brom

A late header from Harry Kane gave Tottenham Hotspur a crucial win against West Brom, pushing them up to the top two of the Premier League.

However, Jose Mourinho is refusing to get carried away, despite the 1-0 win giving them hopes of pushing for the title.

The goal from Kane was his 150th Premier League goal, and it came just two minutes from the end of the game, with it continuing Spurs' 100 percent away record this season.

However, Mourinho stated at full-time that his side will be taking it one game at a time in order for them not to get ahead of themselves.

"When a team is champion, or plays for the title, there is always a direct relation to your direct opponents,"he said after the game.

"I could say that this team could be champions in many European countries. It's so difficult in the Premier League though. There are so many good clubs."

At the time, Spurs surged to the top of the table, but they were immediately brought down to second as Leicester City won 1-0 against Wolves, and Liverpool are set to face Manchester City on Sunday evening.

Mourinho added that "You can have a good season and still not be champions. We'll just try to win."

He concluded by saying "I promise you I'm not bothered about Leicester vs Wolves or City vs Liverpool. I just want us to win games and then we'll see where we are."
