Barcelona defender Sergino Dest is reportedly keen on a move away from the club this January, with the likes of Bayern Munich and Chelsea interested in him.

According to Mundo Deportivo's Roger Torello, Dest has not ruled out a possible exit from Barcelona this month, which is a big decision from the American full-back, with his place in the team seemed certain while Ronald Koeman was still manager.

However, this has drastically changed ever since Xavi became manager, with the Spanish manager seeing Dest as not fully understanding his positional play well and so wants him out of the squad.

Dani Alves has now taken over Dest's place in the starting lineup, with the likes of Oscar Mingueza and Ronald Araujo challenging the Brazilian over being second-choice for the spot.

As a result, Bayern Munich and Chelsea are among the sides linked with a move for the USMNT star, and while Chelsea would like to recall Emerson Palmieri from his loan spell at Lyon, Dest is seen as his alternative.

Bayern Munich are also keen on a full-back, especially after Alphonso Davies was diagnosed with Myocarditis due to COVID-19, meaning he is set to be out of action for several weeks.

While Barca signed Dest for €21 million with €5 million more in variables from Ajax, they are seemingly willing to recuperate those funds and even profit from the sale, setting an asking price of around €30 million.

The 21-year-old has played in 16 games in all competitions this season, providing three assists, with him being utilised at right-back, left-back, right-wing and even left-wing, but his last start came in the 3-0 demolition at the hands of Bayern Munich back at the start of December.

Dest's attacking capabilities are there for all to see, but his defensive positioning and awareness leave plenty to be desired.
