Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to force a move to Italy in order to get regular football, with his future in London being unclear.
According to football journalist Nicolo Schira through his Twitter account, Bakayoko is set to rejoin AC Milan from Chelsea on loan with an option to buy this summer.
The reporter has claimed that the French midfielder has opted to take a pay cut in order to rejoin Milan, the club that he spent the 2018/19 season on loan with.
He added that the final details between the two clubs still need to be sorted out in terms of the formula of the numbers, and then the deal will be completed.
Milan are hoping to seal the transfer by the next week, with him being one of their main targets for this transfer window.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Milan are set to pay Chelsea €1.5 million for the loan, and then with an option to buy in the coming year for around €7-8 million.
Milan want to add to their defensive midfield options, and while other clubs were keen to sign Bakayoko this summer, including the likes of Lyon, Milan are the favourites to land his signature.
Bakayoko spent last season on loan at Napoli, where he became a vital part of the squad, making 44 appearances in all competitions, as they finished fifth in Serie A.
The 27-year-old enjoyed his time in Italy, and it will be interesting to see whether he thrives at Milan once again after his first loan spell there.
