Aston Villa double signing takes overall spending to £130 million

Aston Villa have continued to strengthen their team with two new signings in the form of Tom Heaton and Marvelous Nakamba.
These two signings bring the total number of permanent signings made by Dean Smith to a staggering 12, reaching more than £130 million in spending.
Nakamba costed Villa £11 million, whilst former Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton has costed the club £8 million.

Speaking on the signings, Dean Smith said that "I am delighted that Tom is joining Aston Villa,” boss Smith told the club website. “He’s done fantastically well for Burnley over the past few years and his experience and knowledge of the Premier League will be a major asset to us this season," and "Marvelous fits the criteria of the type of player we were looking for. He’s very mobile, he’s very good in possession and he will fit in with our style of play."
Heaton made almost 200 appearances for Burnley since he joined the club in 2013, whilst also earning three England caps in the process.
Nakamba was a target for the club back in January, and his impressive performances for Club Brugge over the rest of the season continued to impress Villa, and they signed the Zimbabwe international, in the same transfer window that they also signed Wesley Moraes from Club Brugge for £22 million.
