AS Monaco are interested in signing Bayern Munich back-up goalkeeper Alexander Nubel in a loan deal that would last for two years, with the German giants assessing their options to replace him.

According to a report from kicker (via the Twitter account @iMiaSanMia), AS Monaco are currently seeking to seal a two-year loan for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Nubel.

With Manuel Neuer being a definite starter for Bayern Munich, Nubel is finding it very difficult for game-time this season, and a spell working under former Bayern manager Niko Kovac might prove to be great in terms of his development.

The 24-year-old has reportedly been disappointed with the lack of opportunities that he has been given this season, playing just twice in all competitions, once in the UEFA Champions League and another in the DFB-Pokal.

Nubel and his agent are clearly monitoring Neuer's future at the Bavarian club, with the 2014 World Cup winner shining once again, and although he is 34-years-old, he does not seem to be slowing down any time soon.

Additionally, Bayern Munich are monitoring Arminia Bielefeld goalkeeper Stefan Ortega as a possible short-term replacement for Nubel, with the 28-year-old being one of the shining lights in what has been a mixed season for the relegation-threatened side.

Ortega has played 26 games in all competitions this season, and whilst he has conceded 45 goals and kept just six clean sheets, he has proved to be a great shot-stopper, even in Arminia Bielefeld's leaky defence.

Sealing a move to Monaco to get more regular game-time, whilst Ortega replaces him temporarily, might be a good move for all parties, especially for such a promising talent in Nubel.
