Arsenal are considering the signing of Euro 2020 star Manuel Locatelli after agreeing a deal in principle with Ben White.

According to a report from The Athletic, Arsenal have turned their heads towards signing Locatelli now that they have agreed a £50 million deal for White, after pursuing the Brighton defender for the opening weeks of the summer.

After Locatelli's impressive Euro 2020 campaign with Italy, plenty of clubs are considering making a move for him, and Arsenal are one of the clubs targeting him.

A report from Corriere Dello Sport (via Sport Witness) is claiming that Arsenal are aiming to overtake Juventus in their race to sign Locatelli, with them already knowing what it will take to get Sassuolo to agree on a deal.

Sassuolo reportedly want £34.2 million for him, and Arsenal could be ready to submit an offer in that region in order to get a deal done.

Locatelli joined Sassuolo from AC Milan in 2019, and he also spent a year on loan during his time with Milan, and with his contract set to expire in 2023, Sassuolo will be looking to cash in on him soon.

The 23-year-old made 34 appearances last season, scoring three goals and providing four assists in the process.

Juventus have reportedly had a bid rejected for Locatelli, with Sassuolo holding out for greater offers in the coming days, hence pushing Arsenal back into the race.

Apart from White, Arsenal have also reportedly agreed on a deal with Anderlecht for Albert Sambi Lokonga, while they have announced the signing of Nuno Tavares earlier on this month.
