Reports on Tuesday night suggest that the Czech goalkeeper is set to be taking up a new role at Stamford Bridge next season as a sporting director, which has driven Arsenal fans mad.
Petr Cech announced earlier on in the season that he will be retiring at the end of this season, bringing to an end a playing career which has lasted for 20 years, spending 11 years at Chelsea, and four years at Arsenal.
Cech has been rarely used this season due to Bernd Leno being deployed as the club's first-choice goalkeeper. However, he has been used in Europe, with him being the goalkeeper that has made his way to the UEFA Europa League final, as he is set to face his former club, Chelsea.
However, with the news that he could be returning to Stamford Bridge in the summer, plenty of Arsenal fans have demanded that Unai Emery drops Cech and plays Leno instead. Whilst Cech is a complete professional and will surely be focused on the big occasion, Arsenal fans have still called for Emery to avoid any sort of mishaps, and to just play Leno instead.
Some of the Arsenal fans took to Twitter, with one in particular saying "Sorry Cech, but Leno just took your spot in the UEL Final," with another saying "Definitely can't start in the final now. Has to be Leno."
Arsenal will face Chelsea in the UEFA Europa League final on the Wednesday the 29th of May, as Arsenal will be looking to secure Champions League football for next season.
