Manchester United and Arsenal played out a very underwhelming 1-1 draw on Monday night, where goals from Scott McTominay and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were the only notable things to take away from the match.
The match highlighted how far off the two sides are from the top performing teams in the league, and with the home side being there for the taking, Emery's men never really got going, having to salvage a point from a defensive error made by United youngster Axel Tuanzebe in the second half.
Whilst they improved after the goal, they were still underwhelming, and many Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to criticise the Spaniard's tactics, mainly for his decision to field three holding midfielders against a side that has struggled to grind out results all season.
With Manchester United being dominant in the closing stages of the match, Arsenal will feel lucky to get a draw, with McTominay blazing a free header right over the bar in the last ten minutes of the game.
Certain fans called for the club to "SACK EMERY", and others labelled him a "fraud" for his decision to play such defensive tactics.
One fan in particular said: "New manager required asap. Show some courage @arsenal and make the call now before another season is wasted. The brand of football is so so bad, we're way below the sum of our parts and culture feels terrible all round. Sure Emery's a good guy but not fit for purpose #EmeryOut".
After the result, Arsenal are sitting in fourth, whilst Manchester United are tenth.
