Alexis Sanchez set to miss out on three months of football with ankle injury

Chile manager Reinaldo Rueda has stated that Alexis Sanchez could miss out up to three months with an ankle injury that he sustained during the second half of Chile's goalless draw against Colombia on Saturday.

When speaking on the matter, Rueda said that "He could end up under the knife," also adding that "Inter, his club, will decide. We could lose him for two or three months. It's a shame because he had started playing again with Inter and scored two goals, while also playing in the Champions League."

Sanchez joined Inter from Manchester United on a season-long loan, and has so far scored one goal from four appearances. In the game in which he scored, he got sent off for a second yellow card against Sampdoria, for simulation.

Rueda also added that "He was happy and super motivated. Now we have to wait for these decisive hours."
