What has happened to Alexis Sanchez?

The former Arsenal star's misery continued even during the international break, as Chile lost to an out-of-form Costa Rica, with their star player missing a penalty, denying them a draw.

Sanchez did manage to score right before the end of the match, yet it was all too late for the Copa America holders. Both Chile and Sanchez are yet to fully recover from their omission from last summer's World Cup in Russia, with the South American side falling short of the qualification spots.

The Manchester United attacker has endured a miserable start to the season, even after he showed plenty of promise in preseason. This season, after playing in 11 matches in all competitions, he has only scored one goal and set up two more for his team-mates.

Ever since he signed for United in January, he has not managed to reach the top form that he reached during his time at Arsenal. His ball retention has been poor, his shots have been wayward and the constant reports about him being unsettled in Manchester are repeatedly being highlighted in the news.

For United, Sanchez has played a total of 29 games, whilst only scoring four goals and assisting another seven for his teammates, a set of stats that seem dire for someone of the Chilean's quality.

His former manager, Arsene Wenger, has spoken out about the Chilean, saying that "he has lost confidence". He also added that "Since the start of the season he had a high level of physical energy but he has lost that as well."

With reports constantly linking Alexis with a move to Paris Saint Germain, do you think that the Chilean will still be at Manchester United by the end of the season? Will the Chilean ever reach the heights of his days at Arsenal?
